Position Overview:

The Coca-Cola Freestyle team is growing and is looking for a principal engineer to continue our success. The successful candidate will join the Core Technologies team, which is responsible for the design of the mechanical systems of the unit, with primary responsibility for design and development of fluidics components. We need engineers capable of working across boundaries to understand customer needs, to design and improve world-leading products, and to put them into production using our stage-gate process.

Function Specific Activities:

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
•Fluidics: Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of fluidic circuits, including pumping technologies, nozzles, and flow through tubes and valves. Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle. Has general knowledge of other engineering disciplines (ie: software lifecycle, structures). Works independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
•Thermodynamics: Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of heat exchangers and thermal management systems. Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle.
•Control Systems: Proficiency in development of control systems in theory and practice.
•CADD, Documentation Change Management (Windchill experience preferred). Experience controlling designs using ECN in a formal change management system.
•Design for Quality: Proficiency in applying DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools (DFMEA, Design Verification Planning, etc) to optimize quality and reliability of the product. Proficiency in design for manufacturability, including test automation. Support for PFMEA and process design demonstrated.
•Systems Engineering: Proficiency is translating top level stakeholder needs through to project requirements, and down (using appropriate engineering disciplines and due-diligence) to product and process specifications. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with stakeholders where various needs conflict in order to reach an acceptable solution. Demonstrated expertise in developing specifications, including drawings, for designs.
•Continuous Improvement: Proficiency in designing business processes for continuous improvement. Determines methods to measure and goal process effectiveness and efficiency and determine actions to continuously improve processes. Understands and takes accountability for process ownership, data stewardship and/or policy enforcement and the necessary succession planning when moving on to a new role.

Education Requirements: MSME or MS Aero strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
•BSME or BSAeroE from ABET-accredited engineering program.
•5+ years' experience in product development.
•Hands-on experience with electronically controlled mechanical systems required
•Proven track record of delivering quality products and a wide variety of contributions
•Analytic problem solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or other programming languages
•Advanced experience in control system synthesis, design and analysis, as well as model-based design and validation
•Experience working with embedded microcontrollers and understanding of basic electronic circuits for driving and controlling fluidic flow devices
•Experience with project management techniques as well as team development and mentoring
•Advanced experience with FEA using an industry-standard tool
•High level of oral and written communication skills
•High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others

Functional Skills
•Orchestrate the deployment of resources (e.g., people, infrastructure, financial, informational) from Coca-Cola (e.g., client, internal service providers) and third parties in order to ensure successful project completion.
•Generate a plan and timeline to commercialize the technology (e.g., packaging, production, distribution, capitalization) ensure system readiness, and define resource scheduling in order to meet project objectives.
•Define, implement and support solution delivery strategy including deployment strategy, rollout schedule and delivery method in order to ensure effective and efficient deployment of the business solution.
