Position Overview:

Function Specific Activities:

Related Work Experience: 

  • 3+ years of work experience in the information technology discipline, with a strong security component.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge:  Must be broadly skilled in infrastructure topics, including networking, database management, identity and access management, client-server computing, integration technologies, etc.
  • Security Platforms Knowledge:  Must have working knowledge of the landscape of security tools, platforms and capabilities available in the marketplace, and must track the market for relevant products germane to our situation.
  • Understanding of Security Models:  Must have broad understanding of security and risk models, including ISO 27002, NIST Cyber Security Framework, GRC, Privacy, PCI, Trust Models, etc.

Functional Skills:   

  • Knowledge and understanding of information risks concepts and principles as a means of relating business needs and security controls
  • Basic knowledge in key areas of information security such as Vulnerability Management, Intrusion Prevention and Detection, Access Control and Authorization, Policy Enforcement, Application Security, Protocol Analysis, Firewall Management, Incident Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Encryption, Two-Factor Authentication, Web filtering, and Advanced Threat Protection
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows /Active Directory, LDAP, Internet security and network security technologies (TCP/IP, firewalls, Anti-Virus products, etc.) and third party security or audit tools is required
  • Understanding of infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, networking) security controls and mechanisms
  • Broad foundation of knowledge about Cloud security, with topics ranging from architecture, governance, compliance, operations, encryption, virtualization
  • Provide security support for application and infrastructure-related projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle. 
  • Presentation and communication skills to represent and convey information both in verbal and written form
  • Ability to write security documentation on technical security assessments, policies, and procedures.
  • A working understanding of networking equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi systems 
  • Flexibility and creativity in solution design - including leveraging emerging technologies
  • Understanding of agile development, continuous delivery, and DevSecOps

Job Requirements:

Assist in developing and driving security policies/standards, ensuring the effectiveness of solutions, and providing security consultative services to the organization
Assist with analysis, design, administration, and monitoring of security controls for network, applications, and data in accordance with organization security, privacy, and compliance policies.
Work in close collaboration with other IT areas (e.g. Engineering, Operations) in a DevSecOps model ensuring the necessary information security standards/policies, and solutions are in place throughout the development cycle.
Assist in the identification underlying security vulnerabilities threats, resulting in risk and recommended remediation to system owners.
Assist in the review of new and existing systems design projects and procurement or migration to Cloud for compliance with security standards and architectural plan.
Assist in business risk impact analysis to ensure resources/application are adequately protected with proper security measures
Responsible for ensuring appropriate collection and analysis of technical, functional requirements based on use cases and business requirements into security design deliverable
