Position Overview:

This business facing position in CPS reports directly to the CPS Controller with exposure to 19 CPS global manufacturing plants and two office locations, including Atlanta. The main responsibilities of the role include a) assisting in budgeting and controlling CPS Atlanta overhead spend in the multi millions of USD, b) coordinating the CPS capex process; c) coordinating RFA related activities and processes; d) preparing and coordinating quarterly compliance reports for CPS in conjunction with plant locations; e) supporting the Controller and Finance Managers in governance and compliance related areas; f) providing financial and analytical support to value creation and productivity projects, including the use of new technology tools and technologies.

This position with have significant interactions with senior CPS leadership in Atlanta and in the plants. Ideal candidates will possess the following key skills for this position: strong depth of accounting knowledge, including US GAAP; familiarity with the Company's financial systems and infrastructure; deep knowledge of the Company's governance and Standard Policies and Procedures (SPPs); understanding of costing and variance analysis; CPS and BU/bottler knowledge; strong IT and systems skills; strong process management skills and ability to communicate effectively cross functionally.

Function Specific Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing CPS Atlanta overhead budgets including tracking of actual spends vs. budget, allocation of spends to the plants, processing inter-company charges and month-end closings (e.g. accruals).  Gather and consolidate inputs to corporate overhead budgets and REs and ensure requisite information is tracked on a monthly basis.

  • Act as a global finance lead to coordinate the capital project budget approval process including budget approvals, budget shifts, additional funding requests and tracking of actual spends vs budget.

  • Act as a key liaison point and global finance lead to manage the RFA process to ensure the RFAs are circulated along correct approval routes and approved on a timely basis. Work with 19 CPS plant locations to ensure proper justifications are included to support RFA approvals prior to circulation.

  • Support Controller and Finance Managers in governance and compliance related areas, e.g. audit status tracking, mitigation actions, quarterly control activities and implementation of Control Self-Assessment Questionnaire.

  • Champion the use of new tools and technologies to drive increasing efficiency in CPS finance processes and dashboards.

  • Provide financial support to value creation projects, OpEx modelling and analytics, Region Standards process, and various productivity initiatives.

Education:  B.A. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field of study. CPA, CMA, or ACCA certifications are preferred.

Related Work Experience: 5 or more years related work experience, including experience in a controlling or OpEx management related function gained ideally in CPS, a BU, or a bottler. Experience in dealing with business issues and reporting complexities in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment is preferred.


 

Technical Skills:

Financial Analysis. Ability to perform financial analyses to assist in exploring strategic options, developing creative solutions to complex business issues, and/or supporting decision-making. This includes the ability to perform unique analyses and analyses that require the application of single or multiple financial and non-financial concepts and tools (e.g., NPV, IRR, Discounted Cash Flow, statistical analyses, contribution, economic analyses, loss projection, exposure analysis, risk assessment, implications to strategic position).

Determining Financial Impact: Understanding the financial consequences of decisions; understanding economic value for the system; acting as an owner of the business and making decisions that ensure long-term value.

Business Planning / Rolling Estimate Process. Knowledge of business planning and rolling estimate processes and procedures. This includes applying forecasting techniques and skills to develop and evaluate business goals and strategies, analyzing information to derive insights and implications to initiate planning and/or re-planning, and controlling actual results versus budget.

Forecasting. Ability to develop assumptions and produce relevant financial projections.  Seeks to use new tools and technologies to automate and improve processes.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of U.S. and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  Works closely with relevant Corporate functions (e.g., Controller's Group, Accounting Research) to keep abreast of latest accounting pronouncements and implements such changes across CPS.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation. Ability to compare data from various data sources and identify inconsistencies or variances.

Technology and IT Skills. Ability to use new database tools and technologies such as SAP, SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau to further automate and improve processes and financial visualization tools.

Governance and Controls. Ability to assess current controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded and that transactions are authorized, recorded, and reported. This may include designing and implementing cost-effective systems and procedures properly.  Works with CPS Plants to implement best-in-class governance and control procedures as well as acting as thought leader to assist plants in rectifying CAD audit findings.
