Position Overview:

This position requires skills in the DevOps arena. The IT Analyst should have experience in agile methodology as well as continuous integration/continuous deployment practices. Expertise in the Atlassian toolchain - JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence required.

The Platform Engineer is responsible for supporting maintaining and enhancing the foundational platforms that support Company business applications and processes. The ideal candidate should be technology proficient to provide counsel on all Information Technology related issues and initiatives. This role also supports Developers and Tech leads implementing solutions and developing applications. This individual will be responsible for conducting Life Cycle Maintenance routines to ensure platform expansion and future capabilities, maintains local and cloud hosted infrastructure, conducts user training and adoption for systems, provides recommendations on process improvements and delivering as well as conveys constructive feedback to project leads.

Function Specific Activities:

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Basic Data mining and data modeling principles and Design: Knowledge of basic system tools and standard operating system support processes. Includes a working knowledge of hardware and software operation and the ability to participate in the design and implementation of data center support processes and infrastructure.
  • Basic Operating Systems: Knowledge of basic operating systems and all related aspects (e.g., system tools, management principles, platforms, software, hardware, related products and controls) required to design, implement and maintain infrastructure solutions.
  • Knowledge of advanced system tools and standard operating systems used to proactively ensure that processing platforms meet established service levels.
  • Application Development Methodology: Ability to apply the standard TCCC application development methods covering the full development lifecycle (e.g., project preparation, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support) to ensure solution quality and consistency of process.

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience: 

  • 2+ years of work experience in relevant related field.

Demonstrated competency in the following areas:

  • Deep experience in Atlassian toolchain including JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence Wiki.
  • Web trace debugging and network troubleshooting and telemetry
  • Infrastructure technologies and backend understanding
  • Agile Scrum principles including Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospective meetings.
  • Knowledge of access control methods, security groups, and basic authentication/authorization settings.
  • Project deployment and management
  • Consumer packaged goods business knowledge
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
  • Strong communication, time management and client management skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies

Functional Skills:

  • Manage or coordinate the administration activities and operating systems support to maintain information system infrastructure (e.g., job schedules, retention cycles, data archiving/retention) including providing access to business applications in accordance with information security policies.
  • Monitor end-to-end business applications in order to proactively identify or resolve problems in accordance with operational standards and procedures and to ensure global application availability based on service level objectives.
  • Support high availability solutions for the business application using technology, processes and scripting techniques to ensure availability of hardware, operating systems, applications and support tools to TCCC in the event of hardware/software component failures.
  • Perform problem and trend analysis to identify and correct repetitive problems and increase overall system
  • Implement production support procedures (e.g., administration, monitoring, problem resolution) in order to meet customer service levels.
  • Prior hand-on experience working with reports and dashboards.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail, superior communication skills, and ability to take raw data and produce useable insights
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
