Position Overview:

Field based position in Nashville, TN, The McDonald's Region Director, who leads and directs a highly complex relationship map with our McDonald's U.S. customer and The Coca-Cola system. Single point of contact within McDonald's Regional Geography with accountability for delivering business results with the customer (Corporate owned restaurants and Franchisees) across all business functions: Account Management, Marketing, Operations, Innovation, Supply Chain and Distribution.

Function Specific Activities:

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (Top 5-8 core responsibilities)

  • Develop beverage strategy utilizing complex data, knowledge and insight to develop a region growth plan to deliver against the business plan that drives sparkling and still category growth including short and long-term innovation
  • Identify, address and resolve complex problems with end-to-end solutions throughout the entire value chain from selling through execution and collections.   Requires exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities across all functions to resolve complex customer issues and opportunities unique to TCCC.
  • Exceptional collaboration, influencing skills with internal McD's Operations Center of Excellence, customer, region officers, Franchisees  and 3rd party partners to find common ground for innovation and profitable beverage growth.
  • Manage restaurant equipment recommendations for top beverage quality along with the day to day reactive and planned equipment service (18 different types of equipment platforms plus new equipment needs based upon innovation pipeline. This compares to average Foodservice customer of 3 equipment platforms.  Due to the complexity of equipment platform, requires sourcing and management of specialty service providers to meet McDonald's needs.
  • Enterprise wide-lens sharing best practices to gain efficiencies and synergies across North America.  Responsible for ensuring the “Promise” to McDonald's by TCCC is Strategic and committed to the systems success (customer/company/team/self).  Identifying opportunities, driving change and best in class performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to build relationships and interact effectively to influence internal and external constituents to deliver results.  Includes Business Reviews, Stewardship & Opportunity Identification
  • Partners with our Operations COE to manage restaurant equipment recommendations for top beverage quality along with the day to day reactive and planned equipment service (18 different types of equipment platforms plus new equipment needs based upon innovation pipeline. This compares to average Foodservice customer of 3 equipment platforms.  Due to the complexity of equipment platform, requires sourcing and management of specialty service providers to meet McDonald's needs.

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA Preferred

Related Work Experience: 

  • 8 years minimum sales experience, operations experience, supply chain experience, distribution experience

Functional Skills:

  • Steward the interest of the Company by ensuring that programs are economically profitable, strategically sound, administratively feasible and legally correct.
  • Lead integration of the various beverage category specific priorities and plans into a single total beverage portfolio strategy by channel for the system.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers in order to monitor relationship, re-affirm strategies linked to needs and steward the business, operational and/or personal value created for the customer by The Coca-Cola Company.
  • Build business plan/solution and contingency plan in collaboration with the customer using information collected during the account discovery process (e.g., Identify & Understand Customer Needs, Identifying Opportunities, in-outlet visits) to ensure plan meets customer needs.
  • Record all implementation plan, sales and customer call activity and submit reports to manager in order to monitor execution progress versus objectives.
