Position Overview:

Job Objective

To execute the Statutory Accounting conversion from US GAAP to Local GAAP or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for multiple entities across several jurisdictions.

Execute the preparation of timely, accurate financial statements and disclosure notes in accordance with local statutory requirements for multiple entities across several jurisdictions. Assure statutory compliance in each jurisdiction and ensure that the relevant retrospective comparators are in place. The role will work with a broad range of stakeholders including the Legal Entity Controllers & Tax Counsels for the relevant locations to agree the timeline and milestones. Identify solutions to maximize the compliance, standardization, centralization through leveraging Thomson Reuters OneSource Statutory Reporting and ensure that the SAP/other applications are set up as required for all reporting units.

Function Specific Activities:

Key responsibilities will include

  • Leading the planning and co-ordination of local Financial Statement preparation with LECs, Process Teams, Tax Counsels and Legal.
  • Identify innovative system solutions for the delivery of standardised and consistent financial statements.
  • Prepare a number of drafts and final version of Statutory Financial Statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and narratives for multiple legal entities within tight timeframes.
  • Ability to summarise complex technical accounting requirements in order to ensure full compliance in filing accurate and timely Financial Statements for a large number of entities.
  • Research and successfully communicate changes in IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Co-ordinate the annual planning and sequencing of statutory financial statement preparation for multiple entities with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Apply operational excellence/lean tools to make continuous improvements to processes.


  • High level of liaison with FO Leadership Team. 
  • Strong partnership with Legal Entity Controllers and Tax Counsels
  • Coordinate with Professional Service Providers (Ernst &Young, PWC, Deloitte, etc.) to ensure local regulation compliance at all times.
  • Liaison with Corporate Accounting Research regarding technical issues, new policies, changes in processes, etc.   Perform joint analysis and position alignment.
  • Work closely with all relevant FO teams to ensure effective implementation and assessment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • IFRS knowledge achieved via practical conversion experience or via supplementary education is preferable
  • Accounting qualification from a recognised Accounting body (Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Experience in preparing financial accounting statements
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Able to effectively communicate, collaborate and influence across different teams to lead change efforts
  • Strong communication skills and ability to inspire the virtual team to achieve goals
  • Strong analytical capability and ability interpret and present Financial Statements
  • Proven track record of successful project management skills
  • Capable of following through and focus on time-sensitive execution with limited supervision.
  • Flexibility and adaptation to evolving roles & responsibilities
