Position Overview:

Lead engagement with relevant government agencies (such as NDRC and MEE) and quasi government bodies (including industry associations, government think tanks and research institutes, such as CSPA, CPPIA and CRRA) to understand government and public policy priorities as related to circular economy in general and WWW in particular to help shape business friendly policy and enforcement environment & practice; Work in close partnership with relevant teams to support the lobbying work around PET, rPET and EPR: from policies and enforcement around collect, recycle and reuse of PET and aluminum cans; Build value-based relationships with key government agencies/industry associations/think tanks, industry partners and NGOs to drive execution of business plans to implement WWW strategies; Provide support to the BU WWW task force.

Function Specific Activities:

Key Result Areas:

  • Research and monitor legislative development, government policies and industry practice in relation to plastic packing collection and recycling.
  • Provide support to WWW task force as needed.
  • Develop reports on company positions re WWW.
  • Develop relationships and networks with government departments, industry associations, research institutes and think tanks to engage and support to influence to create business friendly environment for KO.
  • Initiate and lead in cooperation programs with government agencies, industry associations, research institutes and NGOs to amplify the story of KO's thought leadership in WWW and the potential impact.
  • Work with communications team to tell and amply KO stories of WWW.

Qualifications:

Independent Judgment:

  • Demonstrated critical thinking in policy research and monitoring to reach sound conclusions.
  • Exercise independent judgement to recommend appropriate courses of action within established policy guidelines

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience working in government affairs and communications related areas.
  • Proven track record in communications, public affairs, external affairs and crisis/issue management
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills and research capability
  • Experience and willingness to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent in communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure 
  • Education & Professional Qualification: University degree in the areas of public relations, communications, business administration, international business, journalism or law.
  • Language Requirements: Proficient in both written and spoken communication in English/ Proficient in both written and spoken communication in Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Travel Requirements:  Travel more than 30 % of work time
