Position Overview:

As a member of the Finance team, this position will interact with various departments and provide core accounting expertise to the Finance Manager. This position will have responsibility for Accounts Receivable, Internal Financial Reporting, and cost accounting support.

Function Specific Activities:

Main Tasks: (due to the importance of associate flexibility, associates may be required to carry out other duties in addition to these functions)

  • Financial Reporting Responsibilities - preparation and review of period end BU Financial Reporting packages for FMA
  • Preparation of related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation reviews. Coordinate monthly processes to ensure all deadlines are achieved and data reported is accurate and in compliance with company guidelines
  • Management of Accounts Receivable function including issuing of invoices, monitoring of selling prices, and follow-up on outstanding payments
  • Responsible for Treasury function comprising set-up and maintenance of bank accounts, Balance Sheet Exposure Reports, payments forecasting and corporate returns
  • Submission of Balance Sheet forecasts via Business Plan
  • Preparation of TTB Tax Returns from alcohol drawbacks
  • Support cost accounting functions, act as backup to cost accountant
  • Support fixed asset functions, act as a backup to fixed asset accountant
  • Support cross functional initiatives, implement process improvements when and where appropriate
  • Establish, maintain, and promote internal controls (e.g. adherence to Chart of Authority, separation of duties, etc.) to safeguard the Company's assets
  • Perform other tasks, analysis and special projects as assigned
  • Safeguard and protect all Company information and property

Qualifications / Education required:

  • Bachelor of Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Finance function in US multi-national Organization.
  • Strong SAP, HFM, Excel and process improvement are desirable.
  • Accounts Receivable and Cost Accounting experience preferable. 

Skills and Experience required:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles: Knowledge of international, US and local generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  This includes the ability to apply these principles and determine compliance with the principles
  • Reconciliation: Ability to compare data from various data sources and identify inconsistencies or variances
  • Financial Analysis: The ability to analyse financial data (e.g. validity of data including balance sheet account balance, foreign exchange trends, P&L variances). This includes explaining variances, identifying issues, and making appropriate recommendations
  • Customer Focus: Making customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; creating and executing plans and solutions in collaboration with the customer
  • Financial Policies and Procedures: Knowledge of the Company's financial policies and procedures including standard practices and procedures, standard accounting codes, reporting and budgeting, code of business conduct as well as internal policies and procedures specific to area of responsibility
  • Chart of Accounts: Knowledge of and understanding of standard Chart of Accounts.   This includes ensuring additions to general ledger follow Chart of Accounts and transactions are classified in appropriate account
  • Control Environment: Ability to assess current controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded and that transactions are authorized, recorded, and reported.   This may include designing and implementing cost-effective systems and procedures properly
