Position Overview:

This position will be tasked to build relationships with the broad entrepreneurial community (i.e. entrepreneurs, investors, consultants, via tradeshows, industry events and networks) and ensure a robust pipeline of potential investments/partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a combination of financial and strategic analysis experience, including analysis of competitive positioning, financial modeling and process management. The candidate should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, learning agility and the ability to work in a relatively unstructured environment requiring unique problem-solving skills. The candidate should demonstrate very strong written and oral communication skills.

Function Specific Activities:

Develop processes / frameworks to scope and size potential opportunities

  • Research and analyze competitor trends to inform M&A, strategic and tactical decision making
  • Utilize third-party databases including, Nielsen, CB Insights, Mintel to measure performance and develop insights on the global beverage landscape. 
  • Research and analyze business information to develop an understanding of the industry and competitive environment; specifically on long-term industry analysis using predictive analytics

Continue to build the VEB recognition in the entrepreneurial community through local business development efforts

  • Meet / connect with external ecosystem to understand the trends and emerging brands to ensure VEB has a pulse on what is happening
  • Serve as the first point of contact for external brands looking to build a partnership with VEB / KO. 
  • Set forth the vision/strategy for local business development and execute via various types of outreach (trade shows, industry events, grass root efforts, etc.)
  • Build the Atlanta food/beverage emerging brand ecosystem to be seen as the premier partner

Strategic Support

  • Develop perspectives on emerging marketplace dynamics to help inform/build VEB overall and specific investment strategy
  • Create/maintain new scorecards to track success of VEB portfolio against predetermined metrics

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. MBA preferred.

Technical Skills: 

  • Financial Analysis: Ability to perform financial analyses to assist in exploring strategic options, developing creative solutions to complex business issues, and/or supporting decision-making. This includes the ability to perform unique analyses that require the application of single or multiple financial and non-financial concepts and tools.
  • Strategic Analysis: Ability to develop insights using data analytics and problem solving skills.
  • Forecasting: Ability to develop assumptions and produce relevant financial projections and insights.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: The ability to conduct financial statement (e.g., income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) analyses and develop insights on business performance.
  • Drives Innovation:  Generates new or unique solutions and embraces new ideas that help sustain our business
