Position Overview:

The Commercial Strategy manager is a key member of Franchise Operations team, reporting to Country GM, and also a critical business partner for the central Marketing and Strategy & Insights teams, as well as our Bottling partners.
This role will provide strategic, business and franchise thought leadership for Serbia Franchise Operation through analysis of relevant insights, market understanding and by “connecting the dots” of different information sources.
As a result, the role involves understanding our holistic performance, long term market trends shaping our business, competitive dynamics and industry profit pools to develop a business plan that will provide us with a sustainable long term competitive advantage.
The holder of the role will focus specifically on developing and driving the commercial agenda together with the Bottler, building insights based commercial capability across the functions and delivering the Unit Case and GP targets with main focus on “big wins” which offer transformational change to the financial performance of the system - RGM, OBPPC, Shopper Marketing, Customer growth, IC focus.

Function Specific Activities:

Key Responsibilities

Local Insights analysis and recommendations

  • Initiate specific special local analyses and make recommendations based on available continuous studies and ad-hoc as needed.
  • Identify and prioritize gaps / opportunities based on volume, profit and long-term trends including competitive analysis and acquisition target identification
  • Partner with BU Business Intelligence for Industry Estimates and long-term trends identification.

Commercial Strategy

  • Evolve & articulate OBPPC architecture and seek for opportunities. OBPPC Capability Ownership
  • Fine tune and further development of the NSR & Single Serve Growth Strategy
  • Drive the integration of Commercial thinking with Brand plans & Bottler implementation.
  • Close collaboration with K&I, Marketing Activation Team and Commercial Finance for volume and profit simulation
  • Support commercial execution for brands to accelerate brand growth with shopper driven insights.
  • Drive segmented execution, profitable and new occasions / channels based on market / shopper insights.
  • Develop / drive Picture of Success (including merchandising standards) according to BP objectives.
  • Work closely with Bottler Management to support the commercial activities of the business based on agreed BP objectives and other relevant initiatives programs
  • Development and evaluation of Picture of Success, based on shopper insights, channel segmentation, KO strategy for each channel
  • Leading the country LRP process
  • Play a critical role in annual business planning processes

Organization Impact/Influence

  • The role requires great communication and influencing skills and ability to interact with senior executives
  • Close collaboration with all Serbia Operations team for day to day business and capability building on strategic thinking and connecting the dots
  • Constant interaction with CCH Marketing & Commercial leaderships teams for alignment on strategy and execution
  • Working closely with CEE BU Portfolio and Growth team for central insights and overall direction in line with BU strategy and processes
  • GCCL for Functional expertise
  • Network building ability to ensure we collect and circulate best practices

Related Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Extensive commercial background and sound commercial judgment
  • Marketing and brand management
  • System operating model knowledge incl. system economics
  • Category management and channel marketing
  • Excellent communicator with strong leadership & interpersonal/ relationships building skills
  • Influencing & negotiation skills at a cross functional senior level with credibility
  • Ability to assimilate a wide range of data to solve problems and develop coherent plans
  • Significant experience in renowned Strategy Consulting firm, international experience, experience in consumer goods or other relevant industry. Preferred areas of focus strategy, commercial, marketing and/or sales
  • Proven understanding and effectiveness with commercial strategies, sales, marketing, consumer / shopper insights and bottler management
  • Experience in Company, Bottler or Commercial / Business Development organization.
  • Language: Proficient in English
  • Travel required: 30%
