Position Overview:

Position Overview:
The Director of Enterprise Data Architecture role will lead the definition & execution of The Coca-Cola Company's (TCCC) global data strategy with a focus on business drivers for decision making, leading to a data-driven enterprise. This role will be responsible for understanding the use and management of data throughout its lifecycle, across the enterprise. Primary responsibilities include playing a hands-on strategic role in definition & execution of how the enterprise captures, maintains, and exploits information to support key business processes.

This thought leader will work collaboratively with key internal functional leaders & external stakeholders to implement a centralized data governance framework and foster a relationship of trust. He/she will play an advisory role in the use of data to improve performance and business-wide strategy formulation.

The Director of Enterprise Data Architecture will be based at The Coca-Cola Company's global headquarters in Atlanta and will report to the Chief Enterprise Architect. He/she will have travel up to 25-50%.

Function Specific Activities:

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (Top 5-8 core responsibilities):

  • Lead the creation of a data governance framework, with focus on enterprise data strategy, data maintenance & data quality. This includes defining and setting up an operational model to deliver use-cases which provide actionable data insights (in partnership with the function and business leaders.) The framework and approach will consider TCCC's business system product portfolio and associated data needs.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in development of a value-based, multi-year data roadmap & standardization of data toolsets across various Business Units (BU) & geographies.
  • Assess opportunities, secure funding for data initiatives & develop strategies to gather, retain & exploit data as an asset for the organization.
  • Partner with BU business leaders to influence cultural change & remove data silos.
  • Manage and steward TCCC relationships with key business partners (e.g. external knowledge and service providers, technology and innovation industry boards/associations, technology product companies, others as needed), for the purposes of gaining insights to drive innovation.
  • Develop and lead a team of technology resources to manage and execute data led programs.
  • Implement agile methods, standards and procedures to provide consistent and transparent delivery & updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies, goals, and plans for work that focus on and enable the Company to better serve or work with customers, bottlers, or suppliers, and always with focus on the work that matters most.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant business experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods/Food & Beverage industry
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in data management, including implementing data governance, data lifecycle management, and understanding the underlying technologies needed to enable data innovation across a large organization
  • 7+ years demonstrated experience with developing data strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment; experience creating tools and capabilities to assist with data discovery & collaboration
  • 7+ years' experience with hands-on leadership roles directly managing data/analytics teams and driving change within a large complex business.
  • Proven self-starter, able to manage multiple, routinely unstructured initiatives, requiring autonomy and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically, including the ability to translate long-term goals and objectives into short-term tactical plans and operational activities.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale enterprise programs and transformational initiatives designed to address critical business challenges, in a dev-ops environment.
  • IT vendor relationship experience including focusing on supplier processes & performance standards management.

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Azure and Data Lake experience
  • SAP S4 Hana experience
  • Mule Soft Experience  
  • MBA/Master's degree preferred

  • Successful track record of leading and successfully implementing large-scale change and innovation initiatives related to data.
  • Ability to focus on data analytics and technology to develop data-driven solutions that create business impact for the client.
  • Evangelize the importance of data to the organization, however focus must be on strategic use-cases that deliver value.
  • Strong confidence and C-suite presence, deep general business knowledge, expertise in the data vertical.
  • Proficient at developing and managing effective working relationships within the organization and across multiple senior business and IT executives.
  • Establish and maintain architecture and standard technology products in order to enable consistent, reusable and efficient practices within the IT function.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
