Position Overview:

Responsible for the Chilled DSD RTM category strategies and execution objectives for the brand teams and sales organization that deliver MMBU's mission and long-range plan. Provides the sales teams with industry leading strategies to win in the market and enable collaboration with our customers.

Function Specific Activities:

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and management of our category strategies, channel OBPPC, RGM strategies, revenue mapping and SOGs that deliver the annual and long-range plan.
  • Work upstream with brand teams to create sales-ready LOS and programs that activate the brand strategy at the point of purchase.
  • Work with Knowledge and Insight, Finance and Brand to develop channel and category strategies against the most profitable activities.
  • Work downstream with sales to understand customer/outlet/channel opportunities for the juice brands that will generate growth for our customers through the development of the Picture of Success.
  • Leads the development of a consumer driven retail price strategy for the category and brand packs.
  • Leads the development of category selling stories, ready to sell material, AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing and Shelving strategies) to deliver the ABP.
  • Responsible for the metrics and goals against category AMPS; ensures inclusion of AMPS into MMBU's operating scorecard.
  • Partners with the brand teams on category funding requirements and provides subject matter expertise on new initiative alignment.
  • Acts as the category and channel SME for the Chilled DSD organization.
  • Oversees Master Data integrity, new item set-up; maintains field information on Coke Channel.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or similar graduate degree preferred

Related Work Experience:

  • 6 - 7 years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry.
  • Experience in developing business plans / business cases; strategic thinking (forward-looking vision and anticipation of future needs).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Profit & Loss statements, and value chain modeling.
  • Business experience across multiple product lines and routes-to-market (e.g.; DSD, warehouse-direct, foodservice, wholesalers and distributors) and channels (e.g.; large store, small store, foodservice/on-premise).
  • Experienced in developing pricing and promotion structures.
  • Experience and comfort working directly with senior leaders; aligning senior executives with differing perspectives.
  • Collaborating with brand/category teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicates and builds relationships at all organizational levels.

Functional Skills

Minimum Required:

  • Strong communication, presentation and project management skills.
  • Strong category management and selling skills.
  • Extensive experience with price/package/promotion plan development and analytics.
  • Extremely strong critical thinking and analytical skills - ability to draw insights and actions from data, shopper insights, category and customer trends.
  • Working knowledge of key data systems, planning tools, syndicated marketplace information and data (e.g.; Nielsen).
  • Learning and working knowledge of eoStar, Matrix and Go-Spot Check (internal financial and sales reporting; internal performance management and execution metrics).

Preferred Level:

  • Experience in category management and techniques.
  • Experience in channel management and revenue mapping.
  • Experience in direct customer sales.
  • Experience with customer brand marketing.
  • Experience developing and managing trade management programs.
  • Experience with consumer data sources and advanced consumer analytics.
