Position Overview:

This position exists to lead a team of blend room operators to run various machines while making decisions regarding most blend room functions, ensuring that only quality ingredients are used; by verifying and protecting the quality of the product according to the established quality and safety standards set forth by The Coca-Cola Company.

Function Specific Activities:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must understand controls for both CIP skids and be able to perform CIP on both CIP skids; will be required to train other associates on the proper CIP processes and procedures; must possess knowledge of CIP procedures, MSDS Data, criteria/batching sheets and where to find information for each.
  • Regular communication with Waste Water for start of CIP; calculation/verification of any batch changes with QA.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment and ability to use each piece; will be required to perform all testing (correctly and safely) associated with CIP's and complete all documentation regarding the CIP process, understanding of weights and measures/BRIX calculations and how to correctly analyze tests.
  • Print any necessary PPW to be completed by the associates for all production areas during the shift; ensure cleaning and sanitation sheets are at every area and are filled out correctly.
  • Use of ETQ to retrieve needed documents from the database; responsible to double check/verify batching sheets (conducting batch checks).
  • Regular use of forklift to put pre-staged batches into racks/take items safely out of racks; must complete certified course for all lifts used in blend room and surrounding areas; have ability to safely operate forklifts.
  • SAP use; issuance of raw materials to be used in batches; bin to bin transactions; issuance of ingredients to process orders; returns of over issued materials to proper locations; closing out process orders; managing the 500 area.
  • Responsible for the training of other associates on: certain paperwork and its purpose in the production process physical adjustments to batches; following and understanding instructions; understanding the steps to the verification process; label marking each product added to the batch and label meaning; building batches for the kitting process; maintenance of batch kits in the racking system; LO/TO of machines/dock doors associated with the blend room operations; safety topics.
  • Perform PM's on necessary equipment/scale calibrations; create work orders as needed
  • Present all production information at production/white board meetings; report any ongoing issues to the supervisor; monitoring/tracking down time and causes; Must thoroughly understand and be able to safely use LO/TO on blending equipment; must have the necessary tools to safely LO/TO machines; be an example to others by being consistent with the LOTO process.
  • Material incident and reporting; corrective action work; problem solving; analyzing root cause of problems to find solutions; manage projects/lead improvement teams/facilitate meetings (5S, SMED, Yield, Recycling, Safety Improvements, etc); SOP and Training Aid creation/writing; brainstorming and problem solving; adherence to 5'S completion and compliance expectations.
  • Must understand the importance of safety analysis; ability to give safety talks; maintain a safe work habit/work area - recognize and correct safety hazards; keep other team members focused on job tasks; be an example associate to others.
  • Must possess the knowledge of basic costs/overtime control, planning and plant objectives.
  • Work with new associates to ensure all processes are properly carried out.
  • Completion of daily sanitation requirements; other job related duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:

  • Performance of Tech III functions in other areas
  • Cleaning around machines and work area
  • Ability to properly drive a forklift
  • Other job related duties as assigned

Eligibility Requirements

  • Has completed blend room JQM skill Level A and B; successful operation of all blending stations.
  • Ability to make physical adjustments; must be able to move up to 50 lbs.
  • Has read and understands plant GMP's. Doc # (GM-001-F); knowledge and use of necessary PPE.
  • Basic reading and writing skills are required
  • Has successfully completed all yearly training matrixes (Current or Prior Year).
  • Must be forklift certified.
